"1995 bootleg CD Don's 40th Birthday Party on Magically Tuned Cat no.MT4 was featured in the last SSTS#6 & is a bitof a cock-up to say the least. Although the sound quality is good, if not arguably better on certain tracks than its German distant cousin, the main fault is the omission of Dirty Bue Gene & if you are familiar with the show it spoils the continuity. It must be also the most well known bootleg associated with Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band. They were so tight, having just completed European tour & some US dates as far as I can recall. Arthur Lee's guest appearance as depicted on the cover certainly wasn't at the other 10 or so gigs I saw! If you get a choice go for the Tuff Bites version!"
