british punk band the buzzcocks recorded don van vliet's 'i love you, you big dummy' in october 1976.  in 1978 the track was released on a bootleg called "time's up".  the album was re-issued as a cd-bootleg in 1991 and got it's first official release in 2000 on mute records.  the track is listed as 'i love everybody'.  after leaving the buzzcocks, howard devoto formed magazine, with whom he recorded 'i love you, you big dummy' as well.
