captain ahab is "benevolent general hershnov" (jonathan snipes in
real life). in case you ever wondered were you've heard that name before:
"captain ahab" is the main character in the novel "moby
dick" - written in 1851, it is considered one of the greatest books in
american literature - by herman melville (1819-1891). captain ahab is the guy
chasing the big white whale, remember? in the novel the character of ahab is
used to show the close relationship of good and evil in the human nature;
melville wanted to show his readers exactly how a man could be both godly and
satanic, virtuous and sinful, good and evil. chapter 24 of the underground
classic "the lizard of oz" (originally published in 1974, expanded in
1988), written by richard seltzer, is also named "captain ahab".
