mike dineri
from the "Paul Buff presents the PAL and Original Sound studio archives,
vol.4" liner notes by Greg Russo:
"Saxophonist Mike Dineri contributed to The Rotations’ B-side “The
Cruncher” with what Paul Buff calls “good sax” because Dineri was a master
at his instrument. Dineri cut five unissued tracks at Pal, including two
versions of the standard “Stormy Weather.” Both versions use the same
backing track, but Mike Dineri’s ending solos are completely different. Here
is Take 1."
from the "Paul Buff presents the PAL and Original Sound studio archives,
vol.6" liner notes by Greg Russo:
"Mike Dineri
cut "Saxville" during the same five-track session in 1962.
"Saxville" is in the style of Boots Randolph, but it's a Dineri track
all the way.
from the "Paul Buff presents the PAL and Original Sound studio archives,
vol.7" liner notes by Greg Russo:
"Mike Dineri
chips in with his "Shanda," a guitar-led instrumental before Dineri
takes over!"
from the "Paul Buff presents the PAL and Original Sound studio archives,
vol.8" liner notes by Greg Russo:
"There's no question about who played on the next track!
It's Mike Dineri with his second take of "Stormy Weather." Note the
different sax solo at the end compared to the version on Volume 4."
