- various artists:
unmatched absolutely five & sex
(2002, cd, spain, hall of fame records hof-020-cd) –
feat. various artists playing frank zappa compositions
- oh la la. yes ! essential stuff - all of it - and two
discs long. bands from spain, italy, urugay, argentina and
brasil. if anyone has some extra info on the bands, let me
know. i want more.
- the honeymoon killers: sing sing (1984-1994)
(1996,
2cd, usa, sympathy for the record industry 369) – incl. ‘trouble comin’
every day’ (frank zappa)
- american punk band the honeymoon killers recorded frank zappa's
'trouble comin' every day' live at 'the funhouse' in nyc, usa, somewhere
between 1984 and 1994. the track can be found on this 2cd-album.
the album was released a couple of years ago already, but isn't an easy
one to find.
- pete weiss and the rock band: we’re an american band
(2000, cd, usa, section 304 records) – incl. ‘bow tie daddy’ (frank zappa)
- pete weiss and his band covered zappa's 'bow tie
daddy'. this one's a couple of years old.
- terry ware: buffalo tracks
(2001, cd, usa, okiemotion) - incl. 'peaches en regalia',
'let's make the water turn black' (frank zappa)
- in 1981 terry ware released an album on which he covered zappa's
'peaches en regalia'. in 2001, the album was rereleased on cd with
some extra tracks. one of the extra tracks was another zappa
composition: 'let's make the water turn black'. this is a fun
album. very guitar oriented, as mr.ware is a guitar player
(although he plays other instruments as well). i like it a
lot. if you're in for a fine album with a couple of nice zappa
coverversions, this is it.
and there's a new zappa bootleg out. it's called stinkfoot
in berlin. nice cover and package, labeling it as a ryko release
(!!!) and presenting a very fine concert (1976/03/04 concert 'deutschlandhalle', berlin, germany)
in good
quality. yes, that's the 1976 line-up with frank
zappa,
roy estrada,
terry bozzio,
napoleon murphy brock and
andre lewis. wowie zowie.
that's
all folks...
