The Central Scrutinizer is a band from São Paulo,
Brasil, that
plays the music of Frank Zappa.
The band did a concert with Ike Willis
in 1997. It got released on CD in 2009.
At that time, the band was made up of:
Rainer Pappon plays the lead guitar in The Central Scrutinizer Band. He has a number of solo albums out.
Rainer Pappon, and the members of The Central Scrutinizer Band contributed to Fabio Massari's book on Zappa: "Detritos Cósmicos":
In 2008, the band contributed Frank Zappa's 'Andy' to the "Unmatched 8" album. In the same year, The Central Scrutinizer Band released their first DVD: "Live in São Paulo 2008".
May 2009, the CSB did another two concerts with Ike Willis in Sao Paulo. The concert got released on DVD.
In 2010, The Central
Scrutinizer Band played at the Zappanale festival in Bad Doberan, Germany.
The concert featured special guests Denny Walley,
Ray White and Robert
Martin. Ike Willis was
supposed to perform with him as well, but the driver that had to take Ike to the
festival ground, had problems with getting there in time.

last december ('97), ike willis played two shows in san paolo, brazil, with the
great local tribute band the central scrutinizer band. the shows were recorded
and the group is currently mixing them for a future release (cd by muffin
records).

Rainer Pappon, guitar player with the Central Scrutinizer Band,
released a solo album called "O Alemão da Guitarra Verde" in 1992.
It's now being re-released by The Central Scrutinizer.
