Jerry Outlaw is the guitar player of Bogus Pomp. He also performed and recorded with Iratowns, D'yea and Money Shot, a.o.

In 2007, Jerry Outlaw contributed his version of Frank Zappa's 'The Idiot Bastard Son' to "20 Extraordinary Renditions", Andrew Greenaway's project.
Jerry adds: "The piano and strings were done by Ross Jobson and the bass guitar was done by Alex Pasut, both from Bogus Pomp. This final version was recorded at Ross Jobson's home on 14 July 2007. I did all the guitars at Mindshaft studios with my good friend and engineer Bill Ehrsam. All the guitars were finished on 30 July and the final mix was completed on 31 July, engineered and mixed by Bill Ehrsam and Jerry Outlaw at Mindshaft studios. I used my Carvin C-980 acoustic guitar and my fabulous old (1981) Kramer Pacer electric guitar."

The following e-mail is from Jerry Outlaw and is about the first performance of his new band. While different from Bogus Pomp, the music is unique and worth checking out.
And don't forget the August 21 show at Tampa Theatre with Bogus Pomp and the chamber orchestra ensemble with Florida Orchestra musicians. I will let you know before tickets go on sale.

Hello everyone!!! I am happy to say that my original funk-rock band D'YEA is finally going to do our first show. It will be our CD release party at the State Theatre on friday, May 30th. I'm sure we will have another band there too but who it is has yet to be confirmed. The radio station 97.1 FM (97-X) has played one of our songs a few times and has gotten a good response on the request line. I would like to invite everyone to please come out and see the debut of this great new band that I'm very proud of. It's different that anything I've done before and it has a good chance of getting a record deal.
Also, please call 97X radio station at 727-217-9797 and request D'YEA (pronounced DEE-YEAH) The song they were playing is called "All around the world". I hope everyone gives me the benefit of the doubt and comes to see this new original band. It's nothing like Bogus Pomp but I'm very happy with the way it is developing. I've been working on this band for two years and this will be our very first performance. Once again, D'YEA at the State Theatre on friday, May 30th. Please come out and see us play!!!! I hope to see lots of Bogus Pomp people there.

Jerry Outlaw and friends will be opening for Adrian Belew at skipper's on friday, May 30th. They will play from 8 until 9pm and then Adrian and his band will rock the house. Jerry and the guys will be playing songs by such greats as... Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra and some cool originals. Be there!!!

The Steve Morse band plays a very unique brand of original fusion that features Steve's pioneering guitar in a power trio format with the amazing rhythm section of Dave LaRue on bass and Van Romain on drums. Opening the show will be Jerry Outlaw and friends. Jerry has a unique and interesting approach to progressive electric guitar. His rhythm section is Sean Colpoys on bass, Royse Bassham on drums and John Zahner on keyboards. For local boys, they bring a very high level of musical intensity. 2010/07/25 Jerry Outlaw and Friends - concert 'Skippers Smoke House', Tampa, Florida, usa ...Next Sunday at Skippers in Tampa. I strongly encourage all Bogus Pomp fans to check out this band. Not only is it made up of Bogus Pomp members, they have opened their Zappa repertoire to include Jeff Beck , Mahavishnu and others. Plus, they have two drummers which not only sounds great, they are fun to watch. (Fred Hemmer)

The HubbTones (featuring Jerry, Rick and Pat from BOGUS POMP and Pat's brother Lou on drums) are playing every Sunday night from 8pm until midnight at Central Station in Treasure Island. Every Sunday!!!.,.... some on, ... come out.

Also,... please come out to this very important benefit on Sunday, Feb 27th featuring BOGUS POMP & friends. This benefit is to attempt to help replace some of Deborah's camera equipment that got stolen a few weeks ago. She lost ALL her equipment and we have no real way of replacing it so,... I decided to put a benefit together to work toward that goal but we need a little help from all our friends. All 3 of my bands,... The HubbTones, Jerry Outlaw & Friends and Bogus Pomp will be performing. It's going to be an evening of excellent music to raise money for a good cause. I hope to see you all there. Deborah and I thank you all so very much!!
